Dr. Lakshman Gamage

Dr. Gamage is a National Animal Health Research Lead with the CFIA. He obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree (BVSc) from Sri Lanka and thereafter completed a Master of Science (MSc) in veterinary biomedical sciences and a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in veterinary microbiology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), University of Saskatchewan. He has also completed a post-doctoral study at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) in Saskatoon. He has undertaken training in veterinary disease diagnosis in the UK, Thailand, and Japan and gained experience in working with multiple stakeholders at various government and academic institutes in Sri Lanka and Canada during his academic career and work at the CFIA.
