1ST CARIBBEAN RABIES DAY

CaribVET is celebrating the World Rabies Day (WRD) until end of December 2017 and registered 2 WRD events

Rabies epidemiology in the Caribbean is complex as it involves 3 major vectors – dogs, bats and mongoose. CaribVET’s participation in the WRD is a way to contribute to the worldwide effort. All CaribVET Members are encouraged to organize a WRD event in their country/territory before 31 Dec!

Created and coordinated by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC), WRD is held on 28th September annually. It is the first and only global day of action and awareness for rabies prevention. It is an opportunity for individuals, researchers, NGOs and governments to connect and share their work. Objective: increase community awareness of rabies and its prevention.
