NORGEN is a very active technical group led by Dr. Fernando de La Torre Sánchez, Director of the National Genetic Resources Center of Mexico.

Dr. Eileen Thacker, Chair of this TF, participating by teleconference, pointed out the major results of the collaboration, carried out by an extensive group of researchers from USDA, INIFAP and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), as well as regulators from APHIS (US) and SENASICA (Mexico).

Dr. Saindon explained recent developments in the Science and Technology Branch of AAFC and its approach to innovation.

Dr. Michèle Marcotte, Director of Research and Development, at the Eastern Cereal and Oilseed Research Centre (ECORC) presented the centre’s history, priorities and main results in crop development, covering corn, soy, spring wheat, winter wheat, oats and barley.
